The
sweet relief in the humid breeze
Clean
air brought to your lungs with ease
Delaying
the sweat from staining your skin
Dark,
heavy clouds coat the sky
No
sun breaking through to make you sigh
What
a merciless week of heat it’s been
An
impending torrent left to hang
The
storm expected with the softest bang
Pleading
to God, in the mid-summer’s day,
“Send
the rain!”
People harp about it so much, I thought I'd give the rain some love... I love hearing it across the shingles of my roof and watching the rivulets drizzle down my windows. I love the gray canopy of clouds it falls from, tucking me in under my blanket, a tea mug in one hand and my latest novel fetish in the other.
I can't say much more then that... I need to turn the page of my book anyway!
